Crowns and bridges

When teeth are severely broken or abraded, usually the treatment of choice is a crown (or “cap”) on the tooth. This holds a tooth together, as well as giving you the proper bite on that tooth again. Often, these teeth look nicer than the filled or broken original! When teeth are removed and you have strong teeth remaining on either side, often a cemented-on, tooth-to-tooth bridge is seated to replace the missing teeth. They look nice and again give you a stable bite!
